“Tooth squeeze “/Barodontalgia- When a person experiences pain in one or more teeth while being subjected to high or low pressures is called “barodontalgia”. Scuba divers can experience barodontalgia betweeen 30 and 80 feet below the surface. Diving into deep waters at extreme altitudes can cause air inside teeth to be compressed and cause extreme sensitivity in pulp chambers and roots of a diver’s teeth. The inside of the teeth are sensitive because the gases cannot expand or contract in a manner to adjust to match the external pressure.
